Zambia's climate is influenced by its seasons, each of which offers something unique for travellers. The winter months are regarded as the best and constitute the driest season of the year, with spring temperatures soaring, especially in October, before the onset of the seasonal rains in November. During the rainy season (November to March) many camps close, opening again in April. This rainy or emerald season is when the landscape turns lush and green, and summer migrant bird species fill the skies, making it ideal for birdwatching, but with access more challenging.
