Offering unparalleled safari experiences this peaceful and prosperous Southern African nation is renowned for its stability and for being a champion of conservation efforts, providing a safe and serene backdrop for extraordinary adventures and unlimited exploration.
A legendary safari destination, the Okavango Delta is the world's largest alluvial fan delta where the Okavango River empties into the Kalahari Basin, forming a unique wetland that's a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Home to some of the highest concentrations of wildlife in Africa and spectacular landscapes, no safari to Botswana is complete without a stay in the Okavango.
Renowned for its huge herds of elephant and buffalo, Chobe is a wildlife photographer's dream come true, with stunning sunsets, incredible birdlife and exceptional wildlife sightings from the river. Venture out on boat-based safaris or explore in open game viewers and take in the rich diversity of life in this incredible safari destination.
In the Kalahari vast savannahs stretch from horizon to horizon, filled with an abundance of life in spite of the challenging, semi-arid environment. Remote, awe-inspiring and spectacular, a Kalahari safari offers one of the most unusual and authentic safari experiences in Botswana and gives visitors the chance to learn from Africa's First People - the San Bushmen.
The remains of an ancient lake that's formed one of the largest salt pan systems on the planet, the Makgadikgadi is a place of wonder. Dotted with rocky islands, in the dry season you can explore on quad bikes and sleep under the stars out on the pans. In the rainy season it is transformed into a wetland wonderland filled with life.
A pristine wilderness on the edge of the Okavango Delta, the Moremi is home to a vast network of lagoons and permanent channels filled with life, offering the chance to explore by boat all year round. Renowned for its exceptional birding as well as the usual array of spectacular terrestrial wildlife, it's one of Botswana's best-loved destinations.

Botswana is an excellent year-round safari destination offering exceptional game viewing in the prime wildlife regions. It is generally accepted that the best game viewing occurs in the dry winter months, from June to August, as this is when game tends to congregate around permanent water (rivers, waterholes, dams, etc). This is also the peak season for the Okavango Delta flood - the annual inundation that sees water levels rise more than a metre thanks to seasonal rains in the Angolan highlands. The days are warm and sunny and the early mornings and evenings cool to chilly.
The emerald season coincides with the summer rains and offers outstanding birding thanks to the arrival of summer migrant species as well as great game viewing due to all of the major herbivores giving birth. The days are hot and sunny, with occasional thunderstorms. Humidity levels are higher during the emerald season.
Spring - September to November
Summer - December to February
Autumn - March to May
Winter - June to August
