The best times to visit Kenya

The best time to visit Kenya is during the dry season from June to October. This period coincides with the Great Migration and offers excellent wildlife viewing opportunities. The best weather period in Kenya is during the dry seasons, especially from June to October and January to February, when the weather is pleasant and ideal for outdoor activities. The worst weather period is during the long rainy season from March to May. Heavy rains can make travel difficult and wildlife viewing less predictable.


Kenya has a diverse climate due to its varying topography. Coastal regions are warm and humid, while inland areas like Nairobi enjoy a more temperate climate. The country experiences two rainy seasons and two dry seasons annually.


From a tourism perspective, low season is March to May and November and high season is July to October.
